Terms and Conditions
Understand our operating policies and user agreements.
Welcome to maxgold.cash Website, owned and operated by Max Gold India Jewellery Private Limited, trading as "Max Gold", a gold, silver, platinum, and diamond buying business with branches across Chennai and Coimbatore, and a registered/head office at the address listed in Section 20. These Terms and Conditions explain the rules for using the Website and for doing business with us — whether at one of our branches, through our Doorstep Valuation Service, or by releasing gold currently pledged with a bank or financier. By browsing the Website, submitting an enquiry, or transacting with us, customer agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Website or our services.
1. Who We Are and What We Do
Max Gold buys gold jewellery, gold coins and bars, silver, platinum, and diamonds from members of the public, and also helps customers release gold that is currently pledged with a bank or finance company (see Section 6). We operate multiple branches across Chennai and Coimbatore — the current list of branches and their addresses is available on our Contact page — and we also offer an in-person Doorstep Valuation Service at a customer's home or office (see Section 8). The Website itself is an information and enquiry channel; it tells you about our services and provides indicative gold rates, and lets you get in touch with us. Testing, valuation, and payment always happen in person — either at one of our branches or, if you choose our Doorstep Valuation Service, at your chosen location.
2. Who Can Use This Website and Sell to Us
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- For a standard sale, you must be the rightful owner of the item(s) you wish to sell, or have clear authority from the owner to sell on their behalf, and the item(s) must be free of any bank pledge, lien, or third-party claim. If your item is currently pledged with a bank or financier, see Section 6 (Release Pledged Gold) instead.
- You must be able to provide a valid, government-issued photo ID when asked, along with any other document we may reasonably need to complete the transaction.
3. How Testing and Valuation Works
This section gives you a general idea of our process. The exact steps followed at the time of your visit take priority if there is ever a difference:
- You visit one of our branches, arrange a Doorstep Valuation visit, or contact us through the Website or by phone to enquire about selling your item(s).
- For gold items, purity is tested using non-destructive XRF (X-ray fluorescence) spectrometer testing, carried out in front of you, without melting, scratching, or otherwise damaging the item.
- Your item(s) are weighed on calibrated scales, and any part that is not gold (such as stones or other metals) is identified so the gold content can be accurately assessed.
- For silver, platinum, diamonds, and other items, we use standard trade appraisal methods appropriate to that item.
- We quote a price based on the purity/quality, weight, and the applicable market rate at the time of your visit, as described in Section 4.
- If you're happy with the price, we complete the transaction, make payment as described in Section 9, and ask you to sign a sale receipt and show your ID.
- You are never obligated to sell just because you received a quote, and we may decline a transaction at our discretion — for example, if we cannot verify ownership or the required documents are missing.
4. Pricing Disclaimer
- Gold rates displayed on the Website, if any, are indicative only, are not updated in real time, and do not constitute a binding offer to purchase at that rate.
- The actual price offered for your item(s) is determined only after physical inspection, purity testing, and weighing at our premises or at your chosen Doorstep location, and may differ from any rate displayed online or quoted informally over phone/WhatsApp.
- Gold prices fluctuate with the market, and the rate applicable is the rate prevailing at the time your transaction is finalised and accepted by you, not the rate at the time of your enquiry.
- We make no guarantee, warranty, or representation as to future gold prices or that any particular rate will be available at a later date.
5. No Hidden Deductions
The price we quote after testing and weighing your gold is the price you are paid — we do not apply undisclosed or additional deductions such as extra "melting" or "handling" charges on top of the quoted price. Where an item contains non-gold components (for example, stones or other metals), these are identified and accounted for as part of the weighing and testing process described in Section 3, and this is reflected transparently in the price we quote, not deducted afterwards.
6. Release Pledged Gold
This service is for customers whose gold is currently pledged with a bank or finance company (for example, against a gold loan) and who wish to release and sell it. The general ownership requirement in Section 2 — that your item must be free of any pledge or lien — does not apply here, since the item is expected to be under pledge. Instead:
- You authorise us to pay the outstanding loan amount to your bank or financier on your behalf in order to release the pledged item.
- You must provide the relevant pledge/loan documents and any identification needed to confirm you are entitled to have the item released.
- Once released, the item is tested and valued in the same way as described in Section 3.
- We pay you the balance between the agreed purchase price and the loan amount we settled on your behalf.
- If you decide not to proceed after the pledge is released, standard sale terms apply once you accept a quote; if you wish to reclaim the item instead of selling it, please discuss this with us before the release is initiated, as this may not always be possible once a loan has been settled.
7. Items We Buy
We buy gold jewellery, gold coins and bars, silver, platinum, diamonds and other precious stones.
8. Doorstep Valuation Service
For customers who prefer not to visit a branch, we offer a Doorstep Valuation Service at your home or office.
- A valuer visits your chosen location to carry out the same non-destructive testing described in Section 3.
- Payment for an accepted sale is made the same day, in line with Section 9.
- Please verify the valuer's identification before proceeding with any transaction at your location.
- This service is currently available within our Chennai and Coimbatore service areas.
9. Payments
- Payment for a completed transaction is made by cash and/or direct bank transfer, in line with the applicable limits on cash transactions under Indian law, and is generally made the same day the transaction is completed.
- If payment is made by bank transfer, please make sure the account details you give us are correct — we are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect details or by your bank.
10. Your Responsibilities as a Customer
- Give us accurate and complete information about yourself and the item(s) you want to sell.
- Make sure you have full legal right to sell the item(s), or, for a Release Pledged Gold transaction, full authority to have the pledged item released, as described in Section 6.
- Cooperate with our identification checks and provide the documents we ask for.
- Never offer us stolen, counterfeit, or unlawfully obtained items for sale.
- Use the Website only for genuine enquiries, and not in any way that could damage, disable, or interfere with it.
11. Sale Is Final
Once you accept our price, sign the sale receipt, and receive payment, the transaction is complete and final. Sold gold items are typically melted or processed shortly after purchase and cannot be returned in their original form, so we are not able to reverse a completed sale, return the original item, or offer an exchange, except where the law requires it or we find that a genuine error was made on our part. We recommend you consider your decision carefully before completing a sale.
12. Website Content and Intellectual Property
Everything on the Website — text, images, logos, and design — belongs to Max Gold or is used with permission, and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may view and share Website content for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy, republish, or use it commercially without our written consent.
13. Certifications and Trade Compliance
Max Gold states that it holds ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system, and operates as a business licensed to trade in precious metals.
14. Third-Party Services and Links
The Website may link to or use third-party services (for example, maps, messaging apps such as WhatsApp, or social media pages) for your convenience. We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.
15. No Guarantees About the Website
The Website is provided "as is". While we try to keep it accurate and available, we do not promise that it will always be error-free, uninterrupted, or that indicative rates and content are perfectly up to date. Please confirm all pricing in person before making any decision.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Max Gold is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Website, including losses linked to gold price changes, delays caused by third parties such as banks, or inaccuracies in indicative rates shown online. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
17. Suspension or Termination of Access
We may restrict or stop your access to the Website at our discretion, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been misused or violated.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in the law. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Continuing to use the Website or our services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disagreement arising from these Terms or your dealings with us will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
20. Grievance Redressal and Contact
If you have any questions, concerns, or complaints about these Terms or a transaction, please contact us. We will endeavour to acknowledge and address grievances within a reasonable time.
